SAA Mentor–Mentee Collaborative Scholars Grant

SAA Collaborative Scholars Grant

The SAA is pleased to introduce a new program supporting structured academic collaboration between mentors and mentees. This grant funds a defined project — research, education, or QI — designed to produce meaningful scholarly outcomes while fostering career development.

  • Supports a paired SAA mentor and mentee to complete a defined academic project (research, QI, or educational initiative)
  • Up to $5,000 per project
  • Both participants must be SAA members in the U.S. or a registered SAA Boot Camp mentee
  • Project must include clear goals, timeline, and a measurable scholarly outcome (e.g., abstract, publication, curriculum, or presentation)
  • Awardees will provide progress updates and present results at an SAA seminar or scientific meeting

Achieve Your Goal

The Severance Alumni Association (SAA) Mentor–Mentee Collaborative Grant is designed to promote meaningful academic collaboration between senior mentors and junior mentees within the SAA community.

While many mentoring relationships provide advice and guidance, this program aims to go one step further — to support tangible scholarly work that directly contributes to a mentee’s professional development and future career opportunities in the United States.

Through this program, SAA will provide financial support for a defined project led by an SAA mentor (e.g., research PI, clinical investigator, educator, or program leader) and carried out collaboratively with an SAA mentee.

The goal is not only mentorship, but mentorship that produces real outcomes.

Eligibility Criteria (Mentor):

  • Current SAA member in good standing
  • Located in the United States
  • Able to supervise and guide the project
  • Must provide a structured mentorship plan

Eligibility Criteria (Mentee):

  • One of the following:
  • Current SAA member in the U.S., or
  • Registered SAA Boot Camp mentee
  • The mentee should demonstrate strong interest in academic development and commitment to completing the project.
